| Dear Athletes, Coaches and Spectators, On behalf of the board of the Mayo Sports Partnership and all the community/voluntary sporting organizations in Mayo, I would like to welcome you to County Mayo for the WOMAA World Martial Games VIII. The games are due to be held in the recently developed Breaffy International Sports Hotel and Resort, April 28th, 29th, 2007 in Castlebar. The facilities on offer here are second to none and I would like to congratulate the hotel and the organizing committee in agreeing to host the event here. It is indeed a privilege and an honour for the county to host a World Games event such as this and we look forward towards an exciting display of talents over the time of the games. Martial Arts sports are becoming ever more popular here in Ireland and especially Mayo. There has been an increasing number of clubs established and more recently here in Mayo a martial arts association has been formed to bring people from all the various martial arts sports together to share information and knowledge. The Mayo Sports Partnership encourages people to work together in the best interests of sport and providing increased opportunities for people of all ages, abilitites and race to participate. I expect after the games even more interest in martial arts sports and to harness this will be the challenge. I hope you all enjoy your stay here in Mayo during the games and I personally look forward towards seeing some of the action and indeed meeting you as well.
